About Us

Founded in 1991 in La Neuveville, Switzerland, by Aurel Aebi, Armand Louis and Patrick Reymond, Atelier Oï embodies the harmony of architecture, design and art. Rooted in the spirit of collaboration, the name “oï” stems from the Russian word troïka, meaning a team of three. The studio has spent over three decades creating work that transcends disciplines.
About Us Renowned for their mastery of material and motion, Atelier Oï has collaborated with some of the world’s most prestigious brands, including Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari, Swatch and Artemide. Their work reflects the precision and poetry of Swiss craftsmanship, where design thinking meets emotional resonance. From architecture and interiors to lighting and scenography, every creation by Atelier Oï is a study in balance, rhythm and refined artistry.

Oïna

Oïna is the second designer lighting collection by Atelier Oï for The White Teak Company by Asian Paints, following the debut of Anisora. Where Anisora explored presence through form, Oïna turns inward, studying the circle as a living system that is rhythmic, continuous, and infinitely returning. Born from the intelligence of sacred geometry, Oïna traces the language of the spiral as a universal sign of balance and flow. It is a collection that does not simply emit light but allows it to circulate softly and rhythmically, almost like breath.

At the heart of Oïna is the circular form, treated not as ornament but as principle. Its spiral structure carries energy in gentle motion, unfolding through measured repetition that lends depth and cadence, echoing celestial paths, organic growth, and the quiet mathematics of the natural world. Light does not radiate in a single direction but moves in loops, reflecting across layered cross-structures that extend through multiple levels. These overlapping planes create a subtle illusion of movement so that from one angle the form appears still, and from another it seems to shift and breathe, resulting in a lamp poised between calm and vitality, grounded yet quietly alive.

Every element within Oïna is considered for its ability to carry light with softness and precision. Finishes remain refined yet restrained so the geometry stays at the forefront, while the layered structures are engineered so each intersection feels weightless yet intentional. Crafted from stainless steel with gold electroplating in a satin finish and paired with opaline white blown glass, the collection reflects a dialogue between technical mastery and intuitive design. Materials are selected not to dominate but to support the circulation of light, allowing what emerges to be not glare but a living glow that responds gently to its surroundings.

Oïna reveals itself slowly. From afar, it reads as a sculptural silhouette. Up close, its intricate layers and measured rotations begin to unfold. The finesse lies in its restraint, in the way every curve, overlap, and proportion work in quiet harmony. It is a piece that transforms with perspective. As you move around it, the structure shifts, the light deepens, and the form seems to recompose itself. Oïna does not demand attention. It holds it steadily and gracefully, like a rhythm that continues long after the first glance.

Styling Tips

Oïna integrates seamlessly into modern and contemporary interiors, working beautifully as both a quiet focal point and part of a layered lighting scheme. Pairing varied diameters and placements enhances its circular rhythm and creates a sense of continuity within the space. Its refined geometry and soft illumination complement clean lines, open layouts, and thoughtfully curated environments with ease.

FAQ

1. How do I experience and purchase the Oïna Collection?
Most people first encounter Oïna in a physical space rather than on a screen. Seen in person, the piece changes as you move around it, and the light behaves differently at different heights and distances. The collection can be purchased through our website or at experience centers across India, where store teams help assess the scale, ceiling height, and placement before you commit.
2. What materials are used in the Oïna Collection, and why these choices?
Oïna is built from stainless steel finished with a satin gold electroplate, combined with opaline white blown glass. The metal provides structural accuracy; it holds the geometry steady. The glass does something quieter. It slows the light, diffuses it, and prevents harsh contrast. Together, the materials allow the form to remain legible while keeping the illumination soft enough to live with over time.
3. Can Oïna chandeliers or pendants be customised?
No. Each piece is designed as a resolved system rather than a modular one. The spacing between layers, the direction of the spiral, and the balance of solid and void are all interdependent. The collection's character is defined by how light circulates through the structure, which would change if any one element were altered.
4. Where does Oïna work best within a home?
Oïna tends to reveal itself most clearly in spaces where you do not approach it from a single viewpoint. Living rooms, stair voids, and double-height areas allow the layered geometry to shift as you move, which is when the design comes alive. In more compact rooms, it reads as a composed sculptural presence, offering depth without visual noise.
